The forecast is for sunshine and Mexican cuisine.

This Sunday treat yourself to authentic Mexican flavours as we welcome Cachito to our food truck family.

“Our menu for Sunday is Chilaquiles, this is a traditional Mexican breakfast dish consisting of corn chips in sauce with toppings and agua fresca which is a fruit based beverage,” says Marina, owner of Cachito. Aptly she says it takes passion to cook, but it’s love that makes it special.

Our other food truck stalls will be there too, serving up deliciousness ranging from cinnamon rolls to sausage in a bowl.

Get yourself fresh, new season potatoes on Sunday. Seek out Amy and her children Issac and Katie, who grow them on their Mahakipawa Farm in Linkwater. Word is that they are the freshest ever.



End your week with a relaxing Sunday morning at the market. Catch up with friends and family at the A&P park. Our busker is Daz Karaltlana, with his laidback grooves.

Who will be attending?

Koromiko Free Range Eggs will be back with fresh eggs after taking a break last week.

Great for the summer camping and hiking trips, take a look at Alys’s little soup packs.

Hopefully the weather will settle down soon and we'll be able to get out tramping and camping. I have made up a special soup pack to take on your trip. The pack contains three different dehydrated soups that have already been ground. They contain powdered coconut cream for that rich creamy flavour. Just add one and a half cups of boiling water to each little pack, stir vigorously and you have three instant nutritious meals.

SharpAs Tool Tip

Mincers come in many forms. Your burley maker, kitchen mincer attachments and commercial mincing machines. When sharpening these, it is not just the cutting blades that need sharpening but also the plate that the cutting blade goes against.

Pictured are a set of mincer blades being sharpened on my surface grinder. If you have these or any knives, tools that need sharpening come and see me at the Farmers’ Market.
