Market Manager

Don’t miss this week’s buskers. Father and son duo Rob and Leo will be playing Blues, Originals, 60s Pop, Tin pan, and even Didgereedoo.

Drop by for a coffee and a chat to these two musos between sets. Their last appearance was prior to Covid, and we are super stoked to have them back.

At 11am we have a short interlude with a Latin American folklore dance group, a preview of their performance at the Multicultural Festival coming up in March.

Sunday 26th is Cachito’s last appearance for a little while at the market. Make the most of Mariana's delicious Mexican food, made with love.

There are plenty of zucchini, tomatoes and cucumbers about for summer dining along with stone fruit, the first of the chillies, peppers, onions and new season garlic. Take a browse to find what’s in season in your local area, right here at the market. If you missed our zucchini flatbread recipe from last week, please go here.

And with so much talk about rising food prices, take a look at Garden Bees honey offer further below. Produce purchased at the farmers’ markets is not only fresher, more nutritious and tastier, it also good value.

What else is happening?

On Sunday we welcome the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). Did you know that they provide free, confidential and independent advice about your rights and responsibilities in New Zealand? Anything from consumer rights to health and wellbeing.

“It doesn’t matter what your question is. We’ll help, and if we can’t help you directly, we’ll find someone who can”, says Nathan from CAB.

Go and have a chat to them about their service and how they can help you or someone you know.

Take a peek at our website homepage, to see which stalls will be attending. We update this page on Saturdays.

From our stallholders

Garden Bees

- 1.4 kg pots going out at $17.50 -

There is plenty of honey coming in, so here’s your chance to get a good deal on raw local honey from the Marlborough valleys.

The bee dog is having a rest after long hot day.

thanks Kevin

Gourmet Deli

It’s the season of Damson plums. The plums are poached in my damson gin, then encased in shortcake. Last week 50 portions were gone in two hours. Lucky devils.

The beauty up close and personal with the poached Damson plus.

Savoury treats pork pies, sausage rolls all meat and moorish, plus beef steak family pie.

See you Sunday, Margaret

THE AMAZING HEMP BARS ARE BACK!

These bars are so rich in healthy fats including omega -3 and omega -6 fatty acids. Both of these fats are known for improving heart health by reducing cholesterol and blood pressure. Adding Hemp to your diet may reduce your risk of heart problems in the future.

I have had lots of requests for my Hemp Bars, get yours this weekend.

See you Sunday at the Market, Alys

SharpAs Tool Tip

Ride on mowers are very popular. Getting them sharpened can be time consuming business, especially when needing to bring them in to be sharpened.

SharpAs offers an onsite sharpening service. This means it’s practical and affordable to have the blades kept sharp.

If you have one of these or any other tools, utensils, knives, see me at the Marlborough Farmers' Market on Sunday.

Cheers, Ron
