With 19 days to Christmas, the countdown has started. There is still time to organise your prezzies and Xmas feast with help from our stall holders. For us at the market it is a special time of year as the stone fruit season starts! We are super excited to have Eden Orchards back with juicy cherries.
We are also massively excited to have the Marlborough District Brass performing the next three weeks. The Brass Band is Marlborough’s oldest musical organisation and has been involved with teaching music, character, and precision to young people and adults for over 150 years.
This year, rather than carolling in the suburbs, the band has decided to share the music of Christmas with us at the markets, and they look forward to meeting many old and new friends at the markets. This will really get us into the Christmas spirit.
If you have been coming to the market for a while, you will have met young Devon and his home-made cordials. This Sunday meet him in the demonstration kitchen. Please drop by his demo to say hi and sample his cordials! You will find him next to the District Brass band where the cooking demo is usually located.
Come and stroll the market for Christmas gift ideas, fresh produce, and a bite to eat.
Please read on for more news from our newest and regular stall holders.
See you Sunday, 9 til noon, rain or shine

I am coming with all the usual slow fermented rye and wheat loaves. I’m using organic purple wheat in my some of bread and crackers. Studies indicate that the antioxidant capacities of its pigments may provide protection from DNA damage and oestrogen dependant cancers, as well as boosting production of immune regulating cytokines, and strengthening blood capillaries and cell membranes.
But we will be having apple strudel and cherry pie again, spicy Linzer Tart as well as all the super healthy choices.
It’s summertime when the raspberries are back. With David Harwood away, you will find his berries at the community table. Come on over and get yourself a taste of summer.
