Traditional Country Preserves now has Feijoa Ginger back in stock. Last season they had trouble keeping it in stock due to immense popularity. The Chilli and Capsicum dressing is back too and by the weekend they should have more old favourites in stock so do go and browse and taste samples. The Gold Medal Sugarfree Plum Conserve continues to sell well; get in fast as the next batch isn’t due until mid June. There’s still some ½ price specials on the sales table including an interesting Spiced Apricot Jam. You can order baskets and bon-bons from this stall (you can view their samples at the Market) and they can arrange delivery in any part of New Zealand. You can also add other non-perishable Farmers’ Market treats to your basket such as Pinoli Pine Nuts, Garden Bees Honey, Isobel’s Olive Oil, or Marlborough Garlic Noir. The gift baskets and bon-bons make a terrific gift for birthdays, anniversaries, and appreciative gestures.
Pedro will have fresh gluten free fettuccine pasta this week, it only takes 2 minutes to cook and tastes delicious.
It’s a boy! For those of you who were regular customers at Lola’s Bakery you may like to know that Morgane and Victor became very proud parents a fortnight ago. We can’t wait to meet our newest member of the Marlborough Farmers’ Market – Gabriel – and we look forward to the return of Lola’s Bakery later this year. Félicitations!
It’s that time of the year again at Isobel Olives, the olives are ripening and almost ready to pick. Harvest is upon them, a little earlier this year because of the warm wet weather we have had. Harvest is hard work but fun apparently, and nothing beats being outdoors on a winters day collecting the olives while fantails flit amongst them. If they happen to be harvesting and you can’t find the Isobel Olives stall at the Farmers’ Market over the next few weeks, you can pick up their oil and other products a by appointment (tel 0274 985 404) 9 Isobel Place, Rarangi.
